Explore the Natural Wonders of La Palma: From El Cubo de la Galga to the Lush Forests of Los Tilos

Step into the wild beauty of La Palma with a scenic hike through El Cubo de la Galga in Puntallana and the legendary laurel forest of Los Tilos in Los Sauces.

Surrounded by lush vegetation, this family-friendly trail through El Cubo de la Galga invites you to wander under the canopy of towering trees and prehistoric ferns. Along the way, you’ll find breathtaking viewpoints like Somada Alta, where, on a clear day, you can spot the silhouettes of Tenerife and La Gomera floating on the horizon. The gentle climb—rising from 600 to nearly 800 metres—reveals a living world of ancient laurisilva, nourished by the forest’s constant mist and natural aquifers.

As we descend along a wide forest path, we’re treated to sweeping views of San Bartolo, a charming hillside village in Puntallana where we’ll pause for a well-deserved lunch, enjoying the local atmosphere and island flavours.

After lunch, our adventure continues by bus to one of La Palma’s true natural treasures: Los Tilos Forest. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this deep green sanctuary is home to some of the finest laurel forests in the Canary Islands. Shaded trails, cool air, and the whisper of ancient leaves make this an unforgettable end to a day immersed in the island’s most iconic landscapes.

Our astronomy tour take place in Roque de los Muchachos, without a doubt the best place to enjoy the sky in La Palma.  That means, it will be cold and humid no matter what time of the year it´s, therefore we strongly recommend you to bring a good warm jacket and long trousers, belive us, YOU WILL NEED IT on this amazing day!

The only hike in La Palma above the clouds. From Pico de La Cruz to Roque de Los Muchachos. Hiking around the crater of Caldera de Taburiente, in an amazing hike above 2000m. We also have the opportunity to hike between the telescopes of Roque de Los Muchachos.

We start this adventure hike driving up from the small village of Las Lomadas up to 1300m through a track full of tunnels of hanging vegetation. The track it´s not an easy ride but it´s the beginnig of our adeventure tour.  Once we arrive at Casa del Monte we will have a few minutes to relax, get our helmets and torches and after a little introduction we will be ready for The Springs Tour.
