Stargazing in La Palma – discover one of the clearest skies on Earth
Some nights you simply look up… others stay with you forever.
Stargazing in La Palma is one of those moments you’ll never forget.
This island offers some of the finest conditions in the world for observing the night sky. With incredibly clear air, almost no light pollution and a strong commitment to protecting its skies, La Palma has earned its status as a UNESCO Starlight Reserve.
At Isla Bonita Tours, we’ve designed a special stargazing experience so you can enjoy the universe in its purest form. Whether you’re an astronomy enthusiast or just looking to experience something different, this activity is perfect for everyone.
And the best part? No effort required — just a short walk from the parking area and a few steps to reach the viewpoint.
A unique evening for star lovers
During the tour, we take you to carefully selected observation spots such as La Venta or El Jable viewpoints — both recognised astronomical sites on the island. Depending on the weather, we may choose alternative locations to guarantee the best possible conditions.
Under a sky filled with stars, you’ll explore constellations, planets and distant nebulae. Our certified Starlight guides will help you understand what you’re seeing and reveal why La Palma is considered one of the top stargazing destinations worldwide.

Important details before you join
To help you enjoy the experience to the fullest, here are a few key points about how the activity is organised.
Transport and meeting options
Transport is included from Santa Cruz de La Palma, Los Cancajos and the Parador Hotel, which is why the full price applies for this option.
If you have a rental car, you can follow our guide vehicle to the observation point and benefit from a reduced price.
If driving your own vehicle, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring your car is in good condition and has at least half a tank of fuel
- Following the guide vehicle at all times
- Downloading the meeting point on Google Maps
(La Venta or El Jable viewpoint)
Please note: we are not responsible for any incidents during the journey, such as delays, getting lost, lack of fuel or breakdowns.
Duration of the activity
- Stargazing session: approx. 90 minutes
- Total duration (including transfers): between 3.5 and 4 hours
Important recommendations
The activity takes place at altitude, where temperatures can drop significantly — even in summer. Humidity is often high.
👉 Warm clothing is always essential.
Activity conditions
👉 This experience is weather-dependent, so last-minute cancellations may occur. If needed, we will contact you by phone as soon as possible.
👉 Payment is made on the day in cash, as the office is closed and the guide does not carry a card machine.
Because this is more than just watching the stars.
It’s about feeling connected to the universe.
A night under La Palma’s sky is not something you simply see…
it’s something you take with you long after it ends. ✨
VERY IMPORTANT:
Our recomendation for you is to bring for any tour good hiking or sport clothes and shoes with a good profile. It´s also a good idea to bring sun protection and a cup. Good warm jacket in winter and something against the rain, just in case!.
Do not forget ALWAYS to bring for the hikes water and food, as much as you need.
