Las Manchas and La Laguna in Los Llanos de Aridane
This two names stand out in La Palma als the last standing villages in front of Cumbre Vieja volcano. This villages escaped unharmed during 2021 volcanic eruption, now days called Tajogaite volcano by locals. They are today reunited thanks to a new road that it´s still under contruction.
From Las Manchas to La Laguna we have to drive over the new lava flows, on a non finished road that in some parts the hardened lava it´s still steaming hot. Without a doubt, this is a breathtaking road for many reasons.
Viewpoint Tacande and Viewpoint La Cumbrecita in El Paso
On the old road to San Nicolas, we find an spontaneous viewpoint to Cumbre Vieja volcán. Right here the lava stopped flowing next to some locals houses and the old road dessapears under tones and tones of lava.
After a few minutes drive in our final stop of the day we find ourselves in the Cumbrecita viewpoint . This viewpoint is one of the best places to admire the beauty of our only National Park in La Palma, La Caldera de Taburiente. A wonderful erosión cráter that cannot be admired like this anywhere else in the Canaries.
