Transfer to El Pilar – Volcano Route

How can I organize a transfer to El Pilar for the volcano route and from where?

You can book our taxi transfer services one or several days before doing the route, doing it in advance is the simplest and easiest, you tell us where we will pick you up in the reservation and we will see you at the stipulated time. The day of your transfer to El Pilar it will be enough to show Antonio, our driver, the reservation number.

Transfer from Los Canarios 

It is usually the most requested place when requesting the taxi transfer service since it is the end point of the route in its simplest version. If you have the possibility of getting there with your own vehicle in the morning, you can leave it there and from Los Canarios we will take you in our taxi to the El Pilar Refuge. At the end of the 17km, your car is waiting for you and you don’t have to worry about uncomfortable waiting.

Prices per booking:

From Los Canarios – El Pilar: 45,00€ *per booking

From the Fuencaliente Lighthouse – El Pilar: 60,00€ *per booking.

From Los Cancajos – El Pilar: 40,00€ *per booking

* In the El Pilar refuge there is no mobile coverage, therefore for card payments it would be necessary to collect them before the service. You can also book your taxi transfer service to your hotel from Los Canarios.

Keep in mind that there are not always taxis in Los Canarios, it is a small town and if your transfer in advance is always a very good option.

Transfer from the Fuencaliente Lighthouse

For those who are physically very well, you can finish the Volcanes Route at the Fuencaliente Lighthouse, a beautiful and special place. At the end of the day you can even take a bath in the beach. If you decide for this option, it is undoubtedly best to leave your car at the Fuencaliente lighthouse, there are many parking spaces and from there we will pick you up in our taxi transfer service to take you to the El Pilar refuge.

*please keep in mind that there is not much coverage at the Fuencaliente Lighthouse. Sometimes, at the door of the white and red Lighthouse there is usually a little coverage depending on your operator.

This hike will take you to the volcanic south of La Palma along the ridge of Cumbre Vieja is the most incredible hike in vocanic landscape out of all the Canary Islands. 

It crosses the main volcanoes area of the canary island, from El Refugio del Pilar to Fuencaliente.  It shows plenty of colour contrasts,  the green of the Canarian pines at the begining and also at the end, the black lava and yellow-reds oxidation tones of volcanic terrains.

This route follows the volcanic ridge that divides the south of the island into two sides, east and west, allows hiking above the clouds of the east side, to contemplate the incredible views of the west side of the islands and other islands as Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro.

The end of this tour is in Fuencaliente, in the village of Los Canarios, a small but cosy town where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a nice and refreshing drink before you organize your way back to your “home in La Palma”
