Are you looking for a thrilling and unique scuba diving experience? Look no further than La Palma, the Canary Island paradise located off the west coast of Africa. There are a variety of dive sites to explore in this sunny paradise, ranging from shallow reefs to deep drop–offs. Beginners can take part in the shallow reef dives, where they can admire the colorful coral and the abundance of marine life. Experienced divers can explore the deeper waters, and be on the lookout for the occasional hammerhead shark, which can sometimes be spotted in the area.
 

What are the most well-known places for scuba diving in La Palma?

The best places for scuba diving in La Palma are Los Cancajos, located in the southeast of the island. Also Puerto Naos, located in the northwest and ofcourse Fuencaliente in the south of La Palma.  These three sites offer a great variety of marine life, from small fish to large marine mammals. In addition, each of these locations offers a variety of water activities, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and underwater fishing.
–Los Cancajos: located in the southeast of La Palma, it offers a great variety of marine life and different routes for diving.
–Puerto Naos: located in the northwest of La Palma, it offers a great variety of marine life and different routes for diving.
–Tazacorte: located in the west of La Palma, it offers good areas for diving with a great variety of underwater routes.
–La Fajana: located in the south of La Palma, it offers good options for diving, as well as different water activities.
–El Cabrito: located in the northwest of La Palma, it offers a great variety of underwater routes for diving. Also in Fuencaliente.
 

What do I need to know before starting scuba diving?

For beginner divers, a scuba diving baptism is recommended. This activity is a safe way to explore the underwater world, as it is done under the supervision of a qualified professional. During the scuba diving baptism, the basic principles of scuba diving are taught, such as breathing, depth control, and the use of diving equipment. In addition, safe underwater routes are explored and the marine life is appreciated. Finally, instructors explain the safety procedures and the risks associated with diving. To dive in La Palma, different knowledge is required. It is recommended to have a diving certification to ensure the safety of the divers.
It is also advisable to know the basic theory of diving, such as the principles of pressure, breathing, and depth control. In addition, knowledge about marine life, coral reefs, and underwater ecosystems is recommended. Finally, it is important to have knowledge about diving equipment, such as the mask, regulator, fins, and wetsuit.
 
No matter what your experience level is, you are sure to be amazed by the vibrant colors and stunning beauty of La Palma‘s underwater world. The gentle currents make it easy to navigate through the diverse landscape and observe the many species of fish and other sea creatures. You will also be able to spot a variety of rare and unique species, such as the monk seal, which is a protected species. Important information:

Meeting point:  We’ll meet at 10 am at  calle José Torres Hernández de Fuencaliente.  Once there, we’ll give you a brief introductory talk about diving and teach you some basic techniques that you’ll use underwater.

How long is the activity:  For about 40 minutes, we’ll enjoy discovering the underwater world of La Palma while trying to spot its friendly inhabitants, including a lot of different fish!.  The tour will end back at the dive centre at 1 pm.

Local Tips:
Confortable or sporty clothing. Sandals is also good. Don´t forget a towel and maybe something to drink and a banana. 

Don´t forget also your ID.

Cancelations:  Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the activity starts. If you cancel under this time or do not show up, you will not be refunded.
